Austin, the “Father of Texas”, Austin serves as both the state capital and the seat of Travis County. Austin is home to numerous fine higher learning institutes such as Concordia University, St. Edward’s University and University of Texas at Austin. Austin, TX also boasts a burgeoning economy with major employers that include Dell, Hoover’s Inc., IBM and SETON Healthcare Network. Two shimmering lakes from the Highland Lakes chain lie within the borders of Austin and provide the region with scenic beauty as well as various opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Pflugerville is Travis County’s second largest city. Its population at the time of the 2000 Census was 16,335; however, 2005 estimates show an astounding growth to more than 27,000 residents. Despite its size, Pflugerville remains a tight-knit community with a strong sense of its roots. There are several excellent schools, recreational facilities and a wide variety of housing options in Pflugerville, Texas. This rapidly growing community lies 14 miles northeast of downtown Austin and is the site of a massive transportation reorganization plan that will eventually open the town up to more of the area’s highway systems.
