Barry & Loewy LLP is representing a 14-year-old girl who was
allegedly sexually assaulted by an adult member of the popular
website MySpace.com. The adult member contacted the 14-year-old
on MySpace.com, obtained her personal information, and later
allegedly sexually assaulted her. The suit alleges that
MySpace.com had full knowledge that sexual predators were
contacting young children on the website but did nothing to stop
it. Additionally, the suit alleges that MySpace.com fraudulently
represents it has security measures in place to protect its
young members but, in reality, it does not.
Barry & Loewy LLP is seeking no less than Thirty (30) Million
dollars against MySpace.com for their negligent and fraudulent
conduct. The suit also seeks damages against the alleged sexual
predator for assault and intentional infliction of emotional
distress. The suit is filed in Travis County, Texas.
